What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga Therapy is a personalized, evidence-informed approach to healing that uses the tools of yoga—movement, somatic movment, breathwork, meditation, and lifestyle practices—to support your whole being. It’s not about fixing you. It’s about meeting you right where you are and guiding you back to yourself.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, burnout, anxiety, or the deep exhaustion that comes from living in a world that asks too much—yoga therapy offers space to soften, explore, and reconnect.

I’m not talking about fast-paced flows or needing to touch your toes. Yoga therapy is gentle, intentional, and centered on you. It’s backed by research in neuroscience, pain science, and trauma-informed care, and rooted in the ancient wisdom of yoga philosophy—particularly the koshas, which describe the layers of who we are: body, breath, mind, intuition, and spirit.

“Yoga therapy is the process of empowering individuals to progress toward improved health and well-being through the application of the teachings and practices of yoga.”
— International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT)
Yoga Therapy Is For You If:
You're seeking an accessible practice
Yoga therapy meets you exactly as you are. If you’re living with disability, limited mobility, neurodivergence, or fatigue, your practice is adapted to your life—not the other way around. You don’t need to “be flexible” or “do it right.” You just need to show up.

You live with chronic pain or chronic illness
Pain can feel isolating and unpredictable. Yoga therapy provides tools to help regulate your nervous system, release tension, and feel more at home in your body. We draw on modern pain science and gentle yoga practices to support relief, function, and resilience—on your terms.

You’re struggling with mental health or emotional overwhelm
Yoga therapy supports anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional exhaustion. Grounded in research and trauma-informed practice, we work with movement, breath, and rest to help you come back into your body, back into presence—and gently hold space for what you're feeling.

You’re craving rest and better sleep
Exhaustion doesn’t always come with an off switch. Yoga therapy includes restorative postures, guided meditation (like yoga nidra), and breathing practices that signal safety to your body, helping you fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up less depleted.

More Than Just a Practice—It’s a Relationship
Yoga therapy isn’t something done to you—it’s done with you. It’s a collaborative, respectful process that honors your lived experience and personal goals. Your sessions are unique to you and unfold at your pace.
This isn’t just physical. Yoga therapy works with the full spectrum of who you are, through the lens of the koshas:
-
Annamaya (body) – how you move, feel, and hold yourself
-
Pranamaya (energy/breath) – how you breathe, regulate, and recharge
-
Manomaya (mind/emotions) – your thoughts, reactions, and inner stories
-
Vijnanamaya (wisdom/intuition) – your insight, truth, and clarity
-
Anandamaya (joy/spirit) – your connection to wholeness and peace
Healing isn’t about being “perfect”—it’s about becoming more familiar with yourself. Yoga and meditation help you reconnect with what’s underneath the noise. Over time, you might notice more ease. More awareness. Maybe even a sense of coming home to yourself.

This is for You.
If you're tired of pushing through, or you’re seeking a more sustainable way to feel whole—yoga therapy offers a gentle, research-backed, deeply human approach to care. You don’t have to do it alone.
Let this be your invitation to slow down. To feel what you feel. To meet yourself with compassion. And to begin the journey inward, layer by layer.
